Two Chicks With A Side Hustle

If you’ve got real securities/financial services chops (and ideally licenses), this is a legit “content owner” role. You’re not just writing. You’re building exam-prep products that have to stay compliant with FINRA/NFA/NYSE/NASAA standards and perform well with students.

About Kaplan
Kaplan is an education + tech company focused on professional training, with a strong remote setup and a big emphasis on quality, compliance, and learner outcomes.

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Remote/Nationwide (USA)

What You’ll Do

  • Create new exam-prep content for securities and futures licensing exams:
    • Written/printed materials
    • Digital assets + online programs
    • Exam-style questions + rationales
    • Classroom resources
    • Video scripts (and content support for delivery)
  • Review and improve existing content for relevance, quality, and accuracy with content/product managers and other specialists
  • Respond to customer and student inquiries; support sales/marketing/customer engagement via meetings, webinars, forums, etc.
  • Audit live classes to ensure instruction aligns with intended scope; give faculty feedback
  • Manage research and product development projects independently
  • Test products before release for content quality + technical issues
  • Track content performance metrics and recommend improvements based on feedback and regulatory/industry changes

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Securities/Financial Services
  • 3+ years experience
  • Securities product knowledge plus technical writing and teaching (academic or professional learning environment)
  • Preferred: securities license(s) and/or financial services designation(s), master’s degree, or law degree
  • Strong tools skills: Google Workspace + MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint, including building solid slide decks)
  • CMS experience
  • Experience editing PDFs and digital content
  • Able to read/edit technical securities material and translate it into student-friendly learning content
  • Strong reasoning/problem-solving, communication, deadline discipline
  • Preferred extras: industry contacts at SROs/associations; strong detail + multitasking

Benefits

  • Remote flexibility
  • Retirement plan with automatic enrollment in Company Contribution Plan (8–10% annual contribution based on tenure)
  • Tuition assistance + employee/family education discounts (“Gift of Knowledge”)
  • Health benefits Day 1
  • PTO package: holidays, vacation, personal, sick, plus 1 volunteer day + 1 D&I day

Pay

  • Salary Grade B: $64,819 to $162,047 (offer varies by experience/market)

My blunt take: this is not a “general content writer” job. It’s a regulatory-heavy, exam-prep product role. If you don’t already speak FINRA/NASAA and you don’t have licenses or deep securities background, it’ll be a rough fit. If you do, it’s a strong remote opportunity with serious upside.
