National Forest Foundation (NFF) is pleased to offer a regular, full-time, and exempt position to a candidate who will provide support to the Conservation Awards team in the administration and management of data systems and processes for outgoing grants and contracts.

Position Function: The Conservation Awards Operations Associate reports directly to the Conservation Awards Director and works closely with Conservation Awards, Field, and Finance teams to support data management and processes for the organization’s outgoing grants and contracts. The position assists with day-to-day data entry and the management, accuracy, validation, and integrity of NFF conservation awards and project management systems.

Position Duties and Responsibilities: The Conservation Awards Operations Associate will:

  • Maintain workflows in Conservation Awards data systems and supporting process automation and integrations.
  • Execute scheduled processes to ensure data health and hygiene.
  • Assist staff across the organization with reporting, dashboarding, and views related to Conservation Awards records.
  • Support upkeep of agreement and appendix directories for outgoing grants and contracts.
  • Enter and update records for agreements and amendments.
  • Prepare agreements and amendments for signature, and processing for digital signatures.
  • Conduct eligibility and exclusion verification for prospective grantees and contractors.
  • Support Conservation Awards agreement filing processes.
  • Assist NFF staff with onboarding and ongoing training.
  • Respond to NFF staff inquiries, prioritizing requests, researching issues, and escalating as necessary.

Education and Qualifications: NFF expects the Conservation Awards Operations Associate to possess the following educational and experiential qualifications:

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in database entry, donor or partner-related agreement support, or data systems and records management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Fundraising & Engagement strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft365. Experience with Power BI and Power Automate a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel: creating pivot tables, utilizing lookup and reference functions, conditional formatting, and macros.
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States.

Abilities and Skills: NFF expects the Operations Associate to possess the following proven abilities and skills:

  • Advanced computer skills, with a proficiency in common business desktop applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with data entry in a relational databases or similar records management system.
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to process.
  • Ability to set priorities, while managing a variety of projects and tasks to successful completion.
  • Highly organized approach to daily work.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Strong writing skills and customer/partner service experience.
  • Ability to perform basic financial calculations.
  • Ability to work well and be flexible in a team-oriented environment.

Location: The location for this position is flexible throughout the US. This position is a remote/work from home position and requires reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.

Compensation: The NFF offers competitive compensation commensurate with candidate skills, experience, and location. Total rewards at NFF, beyond salary, include generous paid time off, employer contributions to health savings accounts, matching funds for retirement, and more. NFF has recently (August 2022) implemented a new compensation program with grade levels as part of our commitment to transparency. The salary range for this position will be in the $37,800 to $49,100 range and may be eligible for locality adjustment. Please note that the indicated salary range describes the full range for an incumbent in this position. Most new staff generally start at the beginning of the range percentile to ensure internal salary equity.
