What You’ll Do
- Respond to member and provider inquiries via phone and email within service standards
- Assist members with benefits and healthcare questions
- Negotiate with providers to gain acceptance for plans without network agreements and/or out-of-network providers
- Document all calls and interactions in a system-based call log
- Handle additional duties as assigned as business needs change
What You Need
- High School Diploma or GED (2+ years of college preferred)
- 1+ year customer service/call center experience in a healthcare-related role
- Medical intake or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) experience (preferred)
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills
- Comfort handling confidential and sensitive information
- Strong computer navigation skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications
- Excellent data entry and typing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, anticipate needs, and problem-solve independently
- Attention to detail and strong analytical/research skills
- Knowledge of provider organizations/networks and medical terminology
- Understanding of CMS Medicare reimbursement rates and ability to negotiate rate structures
- Self-funded benefits knowledge, claims processing, insurance verification/pre-certification, or provider billing experience (plus)
- Bilingual English/Spanish (plus)
