Schedule
- Full-time, non-exempt role
- Remote position supporting Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO
- Standard business hours with flexibility as needed
Responsibilities
- Make a high volume of outbound calls to assigned delinquent customers.
- Handle incoming calls, effectively resolving customer and branch questions.
- Manage collection calls and correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented department.
- Communicate and follow up with customers and branch personnel in a timely manner.
- Reconcile customer disputes related to outstanding balances.
- Issue dunning letters and payment commitment letters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, branch staff, and co-workers.
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills while showing sensitivity and compassion.
- Think critically, exercise independent judgment, and handle special projects as assigned.
- Meet portfolio, departmental, and company collection goals.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or accounts receivable.
- Strong foundation in spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer-focused, with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable navigating multiple technologies in a metrics-driven environment.
