Position Title: Collections Specialist
Reports To: Manager, Accounts Receivable & Collections
Department: Finance
Location: US (Remote)
Classification: Hourly
Position Summary
Under the general direction of the AR & Collections Manager, the Collection Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts based on assigned Account Executives as well as other receivable activities (i.e. Collections, Cash receipts.)
Major Responsibilities, but not limited to
- Notify or locate customers with delinquent accounts and attempt to secure payment.
- Investigate historical data for each debt or bill.
- Prepare correspondence on delinquent accounts requiring special handling.
- Prepare bill reconciliation reports.
- Excel reporting.
- Review accounts for any new developments and report to management.
- Communicate status of accounts in a clear and concise manner.
- Research disputed delinquent account balances.
- Work closely with the Sales and Customer Service department to resolve and/or assist in any customer delinquency issues.
- Assist with email responses and possible A/R functions.
- Track progress of work.
- Courier, archiving and mailing.
- Support LLS’ Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division’s processes, procedures and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness and customer satisfaction
- Additional finance duties as needed.
The minimum and maximum full-time hourly rate for this role are listed below. Please note that this hourly rate information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations. Experience and education refers to LanguageLine Solutions’ current hourly range for this position. US Remote pay range is $21.00 – $23.00.
Candidates hired to work in US Remote will be subject to the pay range associated with the location, and the actual hourly rate amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
Qualifications
- Collections experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent Customer Service (telephone skills), work performance and attendance.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel and various databases.
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Great Plains applications preferred, but not required.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure and maintain rapport with colleagues and clients.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Great organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Excellent troubleshooting, creative problem-solving and strong analytical skills.
- Sense of urgency and ownership, possess strong decision-making skills.
- Strong follow-up skills – follows up aggressively on project/process details and has the ability to understand and develop the “big picture.”
