Wage Range: $21.60 – $34.56 per hour

Job Summary:
Responsible for performing all necessary billing and follow-up functions required to efficiently collect accounts for patient services provided by Evergreen Surgical Center. Will involve developing expertise in the technical procedures related to all forms of insurance claims billing, having knowledge of HCFA 1500, UB-92s and the required data necessary for payment of claims and is required to aggressively prioritize and work the accounts towards a zero balance.

Job Summary:

  1. Researches and analyzes patient billing and collection data for accuracy.
  2. Identifies reimbursement trends in relation to payers, rejections and/or coding and provide recommendation to Business Office Manager for system changes, training needs or other processes for improvement opportunities.
  3. Evaluates PPO/HMO insurance payments received to ensure accurate reimbursement and contractual write-offs.
  4. Participates in the establishment and implementation of collection goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures to keep aged accounts at a minimum.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Facilities Contract Payors, HCFA 1500 and UB-92s
  • Data entry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.

DESIRED for the position:

  • 1 year experience in healthcare billing and collections
