Amerita, Inc. is hiring a Collection Specialist to join its Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. This full-time remote role supports medical account receivable processes, ensuring timely collections, accurate billing, and compliance with ethical collection practices.

Schedule
- Full-time, remote position
- Monday through Friday, variable hours
- Overtime may be required to meet department goals
- Pay range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
What You’ll Do
- Manage daily collection efforts to reduce A/R over 90 days
- Research outstanding balances, resolve claims, and recommend account updates
- Resubmit accurate claims (CMS-1500, electronic 837) and prioritize electronic solutions
- Negotiate patient payment plans in line with company policies
- Identify billing errors, short-payments, and unpaid claims, escalating issues when needed
- Review insurance remittance advices and generate adjustments, refund requests, or secondary billing
- Interact with third-party collection agencies as needed
- Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations, HIPAA, and company policies
What You Need
- High School Diploma or GED (college coursework a plus)
- 1+ year of medical collections experience, with knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Experience with billing systems (CPR+ preferred)
- Familiarity with ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Typing speed of 40 WPM and 10-key calculator skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
