Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Must work 8:30am–5:00pm Mountain Time
- Weekend on-call: once monthly
- Fully remote (TX)
What You’ll Do
- Process new referrals from start to finish (eligibility, test claims, benefits coordination)
- Verify insurance coverage for medications, supplies, and infusion services, and document details
- Document coinsurance, copays, deductibles, and authorization requirements
- Calculate estimated patient out-of-pocket costs using benefit verification and payer contracts or self-pay pricing
- Initiate, submit, follow up, and secure payer authorizations (prior auth, pre-determination, medical review)
- Obtain and review clinical documentation needed for submissions
- Communicate referral status and coverage updates to patients, referral sources, and internal teams
- Assist patients with enrollment into copay assistance programs or foundations when financial need is identified
- Generate start-of-care paperwork for new patients
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Acute home infusion experience required (prior authorization and/or benefits verification)
- 2+ years of home infusion specialty pharmacy and/or medical intake/reimbursement experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care reimbursement, and interpreting payer contract fee schedules (NDC/HCPCS units)
- Strong multitasking skills with ability to manage multiple referrals and priorities while meeting quality and productivity expectations
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- CPR+ knowledge preferred
