Description
The Society of American Foresters (SAF) is seeking a Chapter Relations Coordinator to join our team! The Chapter Relations Coordinator will be responsible for developing strong relationships with volunteers and local leaders to ensure chapter business functions and governance responsibilities are monitored and maintained. This position will track, assess, and maintain records on chapter compliance, maintains accurate officer rosters in the database, provides support for leader resources in the leadership portal, and collaborates with other SAF departments. The position will provide excellent customer service to our members to support the partnership between the national organization and its 30 state societies. The ideal coordinator is a detail-oriented doer with strong organizational skills who enjoys people and develops positive relationships and outcomes. The coordinator will report to the Director of Strategy and Partnerships. This is a remote position.
Requirements
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Monitors, tracks, and catalogues processes related to business operations and governance, such as bylaws, articles of incorporation, and tax reporting
- Oversees annual leadership roster submissions and ensures accurate data upload into the database
- Ensures leader resources are up to date and available on our leadership portal
- Coordinates any chapter dues or structure changes with the membership department
- Conducts billing for state society assessments
- Supports granting program by receiving, tracking, and reviewing proposals and drafting letters of approval
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Strategy and Partnerships

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Undergraduate or associate degree, or equivalent related experience in the association environment
Preferred Education/Skills:
- Two years experience in a professional environment preferred; prior association experience a plus
- Customer-facing experience, with focus on problem solving
- Experience with association management systems or specifically iMIS AMS a plus
- Knowledge and passion for forests and natural resources, or a willingness to learn, a plus
