Description:
Performs data abstraction by capturing a complete patient history, diagnosis, staging and treatment information for all patients accessioned into the cancer registry in accordance with the American College of Surgeon Commission on Cancer (ACS CoC), the Florida Cancer Data System and customer specific requirements. Runs edits on abstracts and makes the necessary corrections to the abstracts. Says abreast of changes to industry guidelines and standards. Communicates professionally and effectively with customers, managers and colleagues both orally and utilizing electronic methods. Participates in Peer Group activities. Exhibits professionalism, flexibility, dependability, commitment to customer service and desire to learn. Possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to adhere to deadlines. Estimated pay range for this position is $22.87 – $29.73 / hour depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Degrees: Associates Licenses & Certifications: NCRA Certified Tumor Registrar Additional Qualifications: Must be a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR). Minimum one year cancer registry abstracting experience in a Commission on Cancer (CoC) approved cancer registry. Knowledge of CR Star and Cerner preferred. Must be adaptable and flexible in a changing work environment that requires continuous upgrading of skills. Must have a demonstrated ability to function independently with little supervision. Takes ownership of certification including keeping up with education and the required skill set to perform as a CTR.
