What You’ll Do
- Receive and respond to prescription refill requests via phone, email, fax, and telephone encounters
- Verify refill request accuracy and validity while following regulatory guidelines
- Process prescription refills accurately and efficiently using established protocols
- Provide clear, professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Track, compile, and analyze KPI data related to refill processing and share findings with leadership
- Meet schedule and quality metrics while maintaining efficiency and productivity
- Support clinical staff and managers with special projects, studies, and reports related to medication refill programs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflows and patient outcomes
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED
- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency (read, write, speak)
- 1+ year experience in a retail pharmacy
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare Part D (pharmacy record review, claims, billing, reimbursement rules)
- Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy/Security and CMS security requirements
- Working knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies
- Strong reading, writing, and documentation skills with high attention to detail
- Basic PC and keyboarding skills; comfort handling multi-line phone systems (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, and internet tools
- Required credentials (must be verifiable):
- Medical Assistant: nationally recognized certificate, and
- Pharmacy Technician: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) current, unrestricted license
