What You’ll Do
- Receive and respond to prescription refill requests via phone, email, fax, and telephone encounters
- Verify validity and accuracy of refill requests and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Prepare and process prescription refills accurately and efficiently using established protocols
- Provide clear, professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Track and analyze KPI data related to refill processing, report findings, and identify trends
- Meet assigned schedules, quality metrics, and productivity expectations
- Provide administrative support for special projects, studies, and reports tied to medication refill programs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflow efficiency and patient outcomes
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Medical Assistant credential required:
- Certified by AAMA, or
- Registered Medical Assistant through AMT
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or medical office environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medications
- Strong computer skills including EMR/EHR navigation, data entry, and keyboarding
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to adhere to daily schedules and duties
- Demonstrated empathy, caring, and compassion
- Reliable internet connection (no satellite or 5G)
