Position SummaryThe Senior Purchasing Agent is responsible for promotes the most effective use of medical center funds in the acquisitioning of assigned commodities and services while maintaining product standardization, contract compliance and best product pricing. He/she evaluates market conditions and trends and plans specific short and long-range commodity objectives. Work situations are varied, ranging from general interaction with staff to independent decision-making. Major decisions are subject to the review and approval of the Director. This position requires organization, prioritization, data analysis and the use of discretion and good judgment in decision-making. Internal interactions with staff and management require developing rapport and problem solving. This position represents MultiCare to external contacts such as vendors, manufacturers, distributors, etc.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in business or related field preferred
- Minimum one (1) year experience in receiving or distribution
- Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state

Pay and Benefit ExpectationsWe provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $34.12 – $49.10 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
