Schedule

  • Remote, US-based role
  • Contractor position
  • Must be available at least 20 hours/week during standard business hours
  • Support high-touch, deliverable-focused clients

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain client accounts in designated bookkeeping software
  • Enter transactions, reconcile bank/credit card/long-term accounts monthly
  • Support month-end close and ensure timely, accurate financials
  • Maintain accounting filing systems and adhere to chart of accounts and budgets
  • Generate invoices, process receivables, and communicate with client customers
  • Process accounts payable and company expenses
  • Create financial statements including balance sheets, P&L, and AR/AP reports
  • Provide insights, financial analysis, and process improvement recommendations
  • Prepare financial reports for external auditors as needed
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams while maintaining confidentiality

Requirements

  • Must reside and be authorized to work in the United States
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience with proven client-facing support
  • 3+ years of experience working virtually in a professional role
  • Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Experience with high-volume bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoicing, and expense tracking
  • Comfortable managing last-minute changes in a fast-paced environment

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with accounting and expense tracking software
  • Familiarity with payroll programs
  • Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack, Calendly, and project management tools
  • Ability to leverage AI/automation tools for bookkeeping and reporting is a plus
