Schedule

  • Full-time, remote (USA)
  • Must be available Monday–Friday between 8:00am–8:00pm EST for an 8-hour shift

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and providers via phone and email.
  • Rotate weekly between inbound calls and email/ticket management, with flexibility to adapt to scheduling needs.
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient and billing information in company systems.
  • Review medical hold forms, faxes, and queues while ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies, process payments/refunds/adjustments, and resolve disputes.
  • Educate patients and clients on billing policies, prior authorizations, and payment options.
  • Collaborate with finance and customer service teams to streamline billing processes.
  • Navigate a variety of payor types including Medicare, Medicaid, ACOs, and commercial/private insurers.
  • Maintain detailed records of interactions and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements to enhance billing operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Proven billing or customer support experience (healthcare/laboratory setting preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and 3rd-party payor policies (including prior authorization).
  • Strong data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong phone etiquette.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • High level of empathy, professionalism, and customer focus.
  • Technical skills: Salesforce, Microsoft Office, billing software (Xifin/Careviso a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of healthcare, insurance, laboratory, or billing customer service experience.
  • Bilingual fluency a plus.

Compensation

  • Pay range: $25–$31 per hour (based on skills, experience, and location)
