What You’ll Do
- Respond to member and provider inquiries by phone and email within defined service standards
- Assist members with benefits and healthcare questions in both Spanish and English
- Negotiate with providers to gain acceptance for plans without network agreements and/or out-of-network providers
- Document all calls and interactions in a system-based call log
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Support additional duties as assigned as priorities evolve
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED (associate degree or higher preferred)
- Customer service and/or call center experience
- Fluent English and Spanish (strong speaking, reading, and writing skills in both)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with internal and external customers
- Comfort handling confidential and sensitive information
- Strong computer navigation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Ability to multitask, anticipate needs, and solve problems independently
- Ability to stay tactful and diplomatic in difficult situations
- Nice to have: self-funded benefits knowledge, health payor background, claims processing, insurance verification or pre-certification, provider billing/financial experience, TPA experience, Medicare reimbursement rate familiarity, and rate negotiation experience
