Responsibilities
- Gather and verify critical member benefit details such as policy numbers, group numbers, and demographics.
- Review insurance plans to determine coverage limits, pre-authorization requirements, and benefit specifics.
- Contact insurance providers to confirm eligibility, coverage, and authorization processes.
- Communicate verification updates, coverage limitations, and financial responsibilities clearly to patients or members.
- Maintain accurate documentation of verification activities, including insurance details and patient profiles.
- Investigate and resolve challenges with coverage, collaborating with patients, providers, and insurers.
- Suggest process improvements to streamline benefit verification workflows.
- Provide professional and empathetic support to patients and members with inquiries.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (required).
- Less than 1 year of work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Professional, Life and Health Insurance Program (CPLHI).
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS).
