This role is for a benefits operator with strong people skills, the kind of person who can answer employee questions with patience while also running clean monthly reconciliations behind the scenes. You’ll own day-to-day benefits administration, 401(k) touchpoints, vendor coordination, and support wellness and compliance workflows.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits questions with timely, compassionate support
- Administer health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, and voluntary plans
- Manage new hire enrollments, life event changes, terminations, and status updates in HRIS and benefits systems
- Support annual open enrollment including setup, testing, communications, and post-enrollment cleanup
- Maintain benefits documentation and platform content to improve employee self-service
- Ensure 401(k) elections, contribution changes, and loan transactions flow correctly into payroll
- Support retirement education communications and enrollment initiatives
- Perform monthly carrier billing reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll, and vendors
- Audit enrollment accuracy across HRIS, benefits platforms, payroll, and carrier systems
- Track and resolve retro changes, refunds, and adjustments
- Partner with carriers, brokers, TPAs, and platform providers to resolve issues and operational errors
- Support vendor data feeds, eligibility files, and platform maintenance
- Collaborate on leave of absence and disability benefits, including premium collection during unpaid leave
- Process benefit changes tied to leave events and track eligibility and coverage continuity (including COBRA alignment)
- Support wellness challenges, communications, calendars, and participation metrics
- Issue wellness recognition awards and incentives and contribute to the Wellness Committee
- Support compliance tasks related to COBRA, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, Section 125, and retirement plans
- Assist with audits, reporting, notices, and filings while maintaining confidentiality
What You Need
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on benefits administration experience (health and welfare required; leave preferred)
- Experience supporting employee-facing benefits and wellness programs
- Experience with billing reconciliation and enrollment audits
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring monthly deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication with a high service mindset
- Proficiency with HRIS and benefits platforms plus strong Excel skills
- Experience supporting multi-state and/or multi-country employee populations
- Preferred: experience with PlanSource and/or UKG Ready
