Position Summary:

Assist Content Development Department with administrative duties, and work collaboratively with editorial team to prepare print and digital educational products for publication. Responsible for assisting with all phases relating to new product development. Work includes general administrative duties, written and verbal communication, and copyediting/proofreading.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Copyedits and prepares manuscripts and digital resources for print, assuring clarity, purposefulness, and ease of use.
• Ensures, but not limited to, the following:
  • accurate body text, captions, labels, images, and illustrations
  • correct spelling, grammar, usage, and mechanics
  • adherence to Chicago Manual of Style and TCM House Style
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of copyediting and InCopy best practices.
• Collaborates with outside support, such as proofreaders and problem solvers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree in education, journalism, or related field or equivalent experience
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Physical Requirements:

• Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer.
• Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
• Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Work Conditions: General office environment.
