Schedule
- Full-time, remote (U.S.-based)
- Flexible PTO policy
- Standard business hours with some flexibility based on workload
- Occasional extended hours during peak times
Responsibilities
- Prepare and resubmit corrected claims to insurance companies per payer guidelines and requirements
- Analyze and resolve first-pass claim rejections to ensure timely, clean claim submission
- Research and follow up on primary and secondary billing claims to expedite payment
- Review and process claim appeals with thorough supporting documentation
- Recommend account adjustments or write-offs based on collectability
- Identify and report billing issues or discrepancies to management
- Generate and send monthly patient balance statements per insurance EOBs
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in medical insurance claims billing and collections (preferred)
- Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Excel
- Familiarity with physical therapy EMR systems (a plus)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Customer-service-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
