As a member of the Revenue Operations team, the Commission Specialist is responsible for auditing and validating the accuracy and timeliness of commissions using company based systems, contracts, membership reports and Excel tools. The position is responsible for the identification and resolution of commission exceptions that would maximize revenue and cash collection for eHealth’s carrier partnerships by using industry best practices for operations across a global Revenue Operations team. This role reports to the Manager of Commission Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily reconciliation and application of carrier commissions and review of membership information using multiple eHealth internal systems.
  • Prepare commission operations reports using Excel functions such as v-lookups, various formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Identify and research commission exceptions by reviewing system level data and carrier reports.
  • Communicate exceptions internally and externally and follow workflow for accurate, timely and complete resolution.
  • Update critical operational workbooks related to commission receivables processes.
  • Initiate and track commission issues in internal workflow tracking system.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual operational deliverables in support of the Finance close.
  • Complete internal and external audits and related requests.
  • Create and maintain department procedures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Two+ years’ experience in cash application, accounts receivable, and collections in a Finance operational role.
  • Experience with Microsoft software applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience working with, summarizing, and utilizing large data sets in MS Excel (v-lookups, formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem solving skills, with strict attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills verbal and written.
  • Highly organized and ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently, performing to high standards of productivity and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines including flexibility to work overtime including weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrate independent decision making on easy to medium issues.
  • Ability to work within a team and cross functionally with other teams.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and revenue recognition standard Accounting Standards Codification (ASC 606) is preferred.
