What You’ll Do
- Prepare status reports to track billing activities and operational progress
- Analyze billing trends and recommend process improvements to reduce errors and improve payment timing
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and errors
- Provide billing data and analysis to support financial statements and projections
- Ensure invoices reflect negotiated terms and comply with policies, standards, and regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, contracts, accounting, etc.) to ensure accurate billing reporting
- Calculate billable data from reports and deliver it to internal stakeholders on time
- Partner with business teams to gather information and respond to customer inquiries
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 2–4 years of billing experience (or related)
- Proficiency in billing processes and billing software
- Experience with bookkeeping, invoice verification, and record keeping
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating cross-functionally
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail with solid follow-through
- Ability to perform ad hoc reporting and data analysis to support decisions
- Familiarity with GAAP and revenue recognition principles
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and internal controls (HIPAA, ERISA, etc. as applicable)
- Ability to research and respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries
- Understanding of contract terms and how they impact billing
- Skill in process analysis and continuous improvement
