Schedule
- Full-time, 100% remote (must reside in one of the following states: AR, AZ, FL, GA, IL, KS, MI, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, RI, SC, TX, UT)
- Flexible scheduling with generous PTO and holidays
Responsibilities
- Complete surplus lines tax filings, reports, and payments accurately and on time
- Analyze and refine accounting processes, implementing controls for accuracy and efficiency
- Manage client credits and refunds for Surplus Lines, resolving issues promptly
- Develop and maintain training materials and SOPs for team effectiveness
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, states, and internal teams
- Maintain knowledge of state trust laws and compliance regulations
- Prepare reports and summaries, translating data into clear, actionable insights
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred
- 1+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience required
- Experience in surplus lines and/or insurance industry preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting functions and confidentiality standards
- Proficiency with Office and Adobe Suites (strong Excel skills required)
- Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Self-motivated problem solver with excellent communication skills
