Job Description

  • To maintain and grow the small business market for Delta Dental of Massachusetts through strong relationships, superior proactive service, and strategic consultation.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for initiating and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and brokers in assigned book of business
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of all Delta Dental products by being accountable for servicing the specific needs and plan designs of existing accounts in an assigned book of business
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients and brokers to further develop relationships and to promote awareness of client needs
  • Proactively develop renewal strategies for individual clients as well as at the broker level
  • Provide back up support to assigned Account Coordinator for resolution of any service issues by utilizing available resources within Delta Dental
  • Develop and execute approved annual Account Retention plan for book of business.
  • Provide proactive, strategic account management to all clients and brokers
  • Collaborate with new business team
  • Develop and maintain supportive and positive relationships with all management, peers, other personnel, and external partners
  • Meets customer needs by applying knowledge of Delta Dental’s products, networks and corporate underwriting guidelines to advise customers regarding dental benefits
  • Supports department development objectives by attending regularly scheduled staff meetings, workshops and seminars associated with training
  • May involve participation in meetings, task forces and projects
  • Attend benefit fairs, re-enrollment meetings and presentations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ – 5 yrs. experience
  • Sales or Client Services experience in insurance or dental related field required
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to assess needs and recommend proper coverage
  • Ability to manage a large number of inbound and outbound calls
  • Outstanding telephone and customer service etiquette skills
  • Highly effective at relationship building
  • Operate independently, exercising good judgment and professionalism
  • Make decisions and choose actions that conform to the organization’s ethical standards for excellence, integrity, respect, and accountability.
  • Excellent attention to detail as well as oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Function with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Adapt to changing priorities and taking initiative
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and database programs.
