First Acceptance Insurance supports customers with auto coverage and claims handling focused on clear communication and timely resolution. The claims team investigates, evaluates, and settles claims using established guidelines while keeping the customer experience front and center.

Schedule

  • Full-time, remote (potential for 100% remote)
  • Role reports into Tampa, FL or Nashville, TN (remote work available)

What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate and investigate policy coverage, liability, and damages using general claims and statutory guidelines
  • Support internal and external customers by phone and written correspondence while delivering strong customer service
  • Maintain an accurate diary of open claims in line with company guidelines
  • Conduct investigations by gathering documents/forms, working with claimants and insureds, and taking recorded statements when needed
  • Review appraisals on time and partner with appraisers to determine accident-related damages
  • Open and process correspondence related to assigned claims
  • Identify recovery opportunities, including subrogation
  • Complete other duties as assigned

What You Need

  • 6 months to 1 year of property claims handling experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient PC and Windows skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, organization, time management, and investigative skills
  • Customer service mindset and ability to handle questions professionally
  • Ability to perform basic math, including averages and percentages
  • Must have or be able to secure and maintain required state adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits
  • Associate’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience preferred
  • INS or other insurance-related coursework preferred
