Schedule
- Part-time, remote (US)
- Flexible scheduling within hours of operation: Monday–Friday, 8:45am–5:15pm CT
- Must be able to complete a federal security clearance process before starting
- May need to travel for fingerprinting/security requirements (Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA offices)
What You’ll Do
- Provide accurate, impartial ASL interpretation between ASL users and spoken English speakers
- Interpret in real time for calls, customer interactions, and business communications
- Maintain strict confidentiality and follow the Code of Professional Conduct
- Adapt interpreting style to meet individual communication needs and accessibility best practices
- Coordinate professionally with internal teams for scheduling and session support
- Follow accessibility, privacy, and quality standards consistently
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED (proof required at time of offer)
- U.S. citizenship or 3 years of permanent residency (required)
- Strong proficiency in ASL and English
- Experience providing ASL interpretation in professional settings
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and accessibility best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism, neutrality, and confidentiality
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; manual dexterity and visual acuity for signing
- Ability to meet camera quality, lighting, and secure/private workspace requirements
- Comfort with remote/video interpreting tools and platforms (preferred)
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Teams and AWS Amazon Connect (preferred)
- ASL certification such as RID or NAD (preferred)
Work From Home Requirements
- Non-cellular high-speed internet (Fiber/DSL/cable modem required)
- Minimum speeds: 50 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload
- Hotspots, satellite, Wi-Fi, and wireless internet are not allowed
- Secure, private workspace
Background Requirements
- Must pass a multi-step federal clearance process
- Must be able to travel for fingerprinting/security steps (Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA)
- Must provide documentation to begin background process, including:
- Birth certificate (original/certified) or passport
- Addresses, employment history, education for the last 10 years
- Two valid, unexpired IDs
- Complete job history template with accurate dates
