Monday–Friday (40 hours/week + 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Shift options listed as:
- 9:00 AM–5:30 PM PST
- 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, or 12:00 PM EST start times (as posted)
Note: role emphasizes independent work with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Communicate with patients professionally and kindly via phone, video, email, Slack, text, and patient portal
- Complete a high volume of prior authorizations (especially weight loss meds)
- Handle clinical admin tasks within scope of certification
- Follow provider instructions for pharmacy refills, lab results (obtain, report, track), medical records, voicemails, and patient messages
- Stay compliant with HIPAA and protect PHI at all times
What You Need
- National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) from NHA, AMT, or AAMA (required)
- CoverMyMeds experience (required)
- Experience submitting prior authorizations for weight loss medications (required)
- 3+ years of MA experience post-externship (strong plus; telehealth/remote experience is a bonus)
- 2+ years of current Athenahealth outpatient EMR experience (required) and 5+ years overall EMR experience
- Strong organization, detail, and follow-through in a fast-paced workflow
