Schedule
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM
- Fully remote

What You’ll Do
- Meet quality and productivity standards and deadlines set by Hospice
- Perform daily HCHB workflow maintenance to keep the medical record compliant and current
- Review and compare daily reports against clinical staff documentation
- Review Medicare Part D responses and denial documents and collaborate with physicians and clinical supervisors for accuracy
- Maintain knowledge of brand and generic medications for hospice patients and work with Part D Sponsors to ensure correct payment
- Collaborate with Billing to ensure claims are complete with appropriate medications
- Perform claim medication review and enter claim medications into the medical record
- Enter medications dispensed by the pharmacy and monitor the HCHB interface
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of HIS data and stay current on changing HIS rules and regulations
- Communicate with insurance companies to ensure processes are followed and payments are correct
- Assist with planning and scheduling face-to-face visits with Nurse Practitioners and Hospice physicians as needed for compliance
- Perform Quality Assurance audits as directed
- Complete other duties as assigned
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred)
- Pharmacy Technician certification preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare Part A, B, and D coding processes, medical terminology, clinical documentation, legal aspects of health information, health data standards, and classification conventions
- Knowledge of HCHB preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicare Part D plans and prior authorizations
- Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and insurance pre-authorization processes
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Understanding of various medical insurance processes
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document accurately
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional problem-solving
- Ability to maintain contact with internal and external customers (patients, families, administration, nursing, physicians) with a strong commitment to quality service

Pay
- $19.00 – $21.00/hr (maximum cap $21.00)
