This is a “when they need you, they call you” role. Not full-time. Not part-time. You pick up optional shifts to cover the day shift (anywhere from 5am–8pm PST) and you’ll be dealing with student safety and mental health escalation. If you’re steady under pressure and can follow protocols with zero drama, this is your lane.

Schedule
- Remote (U.S.)
- Substitute / Limited part-time coverage only (not FT/PT)
- Shifts optional and based on coverage needs, with as much advance notice as possible
- Must be willing to work any shift including weekends, overnight, and holidays (preference for daytime shifts starting 5:00am–11:00am PST and ending 2:00pm–8:00pm PST)
What You’ll Do
- Pick up shifts to support the Beacon Safety Support Specialist (SSS) team
- Review Beacon active planning alerts and escalate concerns to school officials (often via phone)
- Spot patterns and trends in sensitive issues and contribute to solutions
- Help improve training/support resources (knowledge base articles, canned responses)
- Participate in team projects and support technical support tickets as needed
What You Need
- Flexible availability across a wide range of shifts (including weekends/overnights/holidays)
- Calm, emotionally intelligent presence while handling high-stress, sensitive content
- Ability to follow protocols while thinking quickly in edge cases
- Organized, independent, reliable teammate
- 1+ year in a support or customer-facing role
- 1+ year in white-glove customer service
- Experience with Zendesk
- Comfortable handling tickets + phone calls
- Strong written/verbal communication (degree preferred)
- Bonus: trust & safety / content moderation / school-based backgrounds (teacher, counselor, social worker, etc.)
- Bonus: non-English language skills
