Two Chicks With A Side Hustle

This is a flexible, shift-based role supporting K-12 student safety, not a standard full-time or part-time job. If you can stay calm under pressure, follow strict protocols, and handle sensitive content professionally, this could be a strong mission-driven lane.

About GoGuardian
GoGuardian builds learning solutions for K-12 schools that help educators promote effective teaching, equitable engagement, and student safety online. Their tools are trusted by school leaders to support safer digital learning environments and student well-being.

Schedule

  • Remote (United States)
  • Not full-time or part-time: you pick up optional coverage shifts as needed
  • Coverage window: 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. PST (may include weekends, overnights, and holidays with advance notice)
  • Preference for daytime shifts starting 5:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. PST and ending 2:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. PST

What You’ll Do

  • Cover shifts as needed to support the Safety Support Specialist (SSS) team
  • Review Beacon alerts tied to student safety and mental health risk
  • Escalate urgent alerts via phone calls to school administrators (ex: counselors) for appropriate action
  • Identify emerging issues and trends, including sensitive topics, and contribute to solutions
  • Help build support resources (knowledge base articles, canned responses, training/enablement content)
  • Participate in team-building projects
  • Support technical support tickets as business needs require

What You Need

  • Flexible availability to pick up shifts, including weekends/overnights/holidays with advance notice
  • Strong emotional intelligence, calm presence, and professionalism with sensitive/high-stress content
  • Ability to follow protocols while thinking fast in edge-case scenarios
  • Organized, reliable, able to work independently in a fast-changing environment
  • 1+ year in a support or customer-facing role (Trust & Safety, moderation, or school-based roles like teacher/counselor/therapist/social worker are a plus)
  • 1+ year in a white-glove customer service role
  • Experience with Zendesk and handling tickets + phone calls
  • Strong written and verbal communication (college degree preferred)
  • Bonus: non-English language skills

Benefits

  • Hourly pay (typical base range: $19/hour)
  • Mission-driven work protecting students in digital learning environments
  • Remote team culture and growth opportunities (additional benefits are referenced on their careers page)

This role has one big “gut check” requirement: you must be comfortable viewing and escalating sensitive content, and you need flexibility for unpredictable shifts. If either of those is a no, don’t force it.
