Two Chicks With A Side Hustle

If you can turn data into a story, a story into a pitch, and a pitch into real coverage, Siege Media is hiring. This mid-level, full-time role is built for someone who lives in journalists’ inboxes (respectfully), builds smart media lists, and can spot an angle before it’s trending.

About Siege Media
Siege Media is a remote-first organic growth agency recognized on Inc.’s Best Workplaces list and the Inc. 5000 list. They partner with major brands to drive organic growth through content, digital PR, and search-led strategies.

Schedule
Full-time, Remote
Department: Public Relations
Level: Mid-level
US-based (salary listed in USD)

What You’ll Do

  • Generate creative PR angles and content ideas worth pitching
  • Build targeted media lists for B2B and B2C clients across multiple industries
  • Collaborate with content marketing to create proprietary data (surveys, research, insights)
  • Pitch stories and campaigns to journalists/bloggers to earn coverage and visibility
  • Monitor the news cycle and proactively pitch timely story hooks
  • Write strong leads that get opened, read, and forwarded
  • Build and maintain relationships with writers, reporters, and bloggers
  • Research deeply: validate sources and use the most current, relevant data available

What You Need

  • Strong interest in PR, data-driven storytelling, email outreach, and media relations
  • Experience running surveys and building pitchable stories from data
  • 3–5 years in an agency or similar PR environment supporting major US brands
  • Excellent relationship-building and professional communication skills
  • Strong project management, deadline control, and independent execution
  • Near-perfect grammar and sharp editing instincts
  • Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple clients/projects, and still land clean work

Benefits
For US residents, perks include:

  • 100% health, vision, and dental coverage
  • 50% 401(k) match up to 6%
  • Donation matching
  • Career development training
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Work-from-home equipment
  • Free pens (yes, they keep saying that)

Compensation
$65,000–$73,500 (DOE)

Application Notes
You’ll be asked to upload/provide:

  • Resume
  • Short introduction/cover letter
  • Desired salary + earliest start date
  • Portfolio link
  • Years of PR experience
  • A pitch email example to a relevant media outlet for this post:
    “Self-driving rideshare survey” (The Zebra)

One note I’m not letting slide: the pitch-email requirement is the filter. If you want a real shot, you can’t send a generic “Hi there, thought you’d like this.” You need a tight subject line, a sharp lead, the news hook, why it matters now, and the exact data point that makes the journalist go, “Okay… that’s interesting.”

Happy Hunting,
~Two Chicks…
