What You’ll Do
- Review and accurately post insurance and patient payments in line with company policy and regulatory standards
- Resolve auto posted ERA errors daily to prevent downstream reconciliation issues
- Import and upload payment files from clearinghouses and payer portals and process all batches on time
- Manually post payments from bank lockbox deposits, facility deposits, and RTA checks
- Perform adjustments, billing corrections, auditing, and account analysis to keep patient ledgers clean and accurate
- Assist with month end reconciliation and closing so all payments, adjustments, and recoupments are recorded before finalization
- Process remote bank deposits and manually post cash receipts from local bank deposits
- Partner with billing staff to fix posting discrepancies and keep the books balanced
- Work with Client Relations to research and resolve payment discrepancies and help drive electronic payment adoption
- Provide AR support when needed, including researching outstanding claims, preparing corrected or appealed claims, and supporting billing issue resolution
What You Need
- Knowledge of payment posting processes including adjustments, write offs, and refunds
- Familiarity with medical billing, payer policies, insurance laws, and basic medical terminology
- Prior medical billing or AR experience preferred
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web browsers
- Strong ten key skills with speed and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
- Solid problem solving skills and the ability to interpret instructions in different situations
