Responsibilities
• Perform accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding for inpatient encounters within a Level 1 trauma system
• Review medical records to assign diagnoses and procedures to the highest level of specificity
• Recognize high-acuity and critical-care scenarios
• Apply CPT, HCPCS, and facility coding guidelines as appropriate
• Interpret official coding guidelines for correct sequencing and compliance
• Identify documentation gaps and understand how documentation impacts reimbursement
• Maintain required productivity and 95%+ accuracy/quality standards
• Communicate professionally with clients to support strong relationships
• Assist Leadership or Lead Coders with reporting needs
• Participate in company training and maintain current reference materials
• Adhere to HIPAA, AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding, and all internal compliance policies
• Maintain one active coding credential through AAPC or AHIMA
• Uphold confidentiality and protect all PHI

Requirements
• AAPC CPC/COC or AHIMA CCS/CCS-P (CCS strongly preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient coding experience
• Advanced knowledge of EMRs, billing systems, and facility workflows
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
