Schedule
- Full-time, fully remote
- Preferred hours: 8am–5pm CT
- Works closely with clinical teams, insurance carriers, and internal operations
What You’ll Do
- Secure prior authorizations and pre-determinations from commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and other payors
- Select and submit accurate clinical documentation from client EMRs
- Verify demographics and insurance information
- Provide required clinical details to payors to facilitate determinations
- Document all authorization activities and follow-ups in company or client systems
- Maintain internal records of carrier requirements, processes, and contact details
- Protect patient information in full compliance with HIPAA
What You Need
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare setting
- At least 2 years of hands-on prior authorization experience
- Experience communicating with insurance companies by phone
- Familiarity with medical terminology (Oncology preferred)
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and self-motivation
- Basic computer skills
Preferred:
- 5+ years handling prior authorizations
- Experience processing authorizations for genetic lab testing
- Remote work and training experience
- Medical Assistant certification
