Schedule
- Full-time, remote (Mobile, AL preferred but not required)
- Flexibility available depending on operational needs
- Collaborates closely with Coding Manager, Senior Coding Manager, and RCM leadership
What You’ll Do
- Assign and sequence ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers accurately
- Clarify documentation with providers or departments when information is incomplete
- Stay updated on regulatory and payer changes affecting coding
- Identify and report coding-related system edits, denials, and trends
- Maintain coding compliance through continued education and resource review
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to Medical Coding Specialists
- Review team performance metrics, batches, imports, and pending items
- Lead or participate in meetings across RCM and client teams
- Oversee denial resolution timeliness and escalate concerns as needed
- Develop and maintain monitoring processes for pended charges
- Manage PTO requests and ensure adequate team coverage
- Support recruitment and assist with team staffing assessments
- Continuously evaluate work volumes and assignments for timely charge processing
- Perform additional innovative duties as assigned
What You Need
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of medical coding and auditing experience
- Professional/outpatient and multi-specialty coding experience preferred
- Nationally recognized coding credential (CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, etc.)
- Solid understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, ICD-10, and medical terminology
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and handle a fast-paced workload
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and navigating multiple EHR/EMR systems
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and capable of maintaining confidentiality
- Full understanding of HIPAA requirements
