Schedule
- Full-time, remote (Mobile, AL preferred but not required)
- Flexible work hours when possible
- Collaboration with Coding Services leadership and clinical clients
Responsibilities
- Assign and sequence ICD-10, CPT, and applicable modifiers with accuracy
- Clarify ambiguous or insufficient documentation by communicating with clients
- Monitor regulatory and payer updates impacting diagnostic and procedure coding
- Review and resolve coding-related system edits, rejections, and denials
- Identify trends in payer behavior to improve client policies and workflows
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices through continuing education
- Perform innovative and progressive duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of experience in medical coding, auditing, or customer service
- At least one nationally recognized coding credential (CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, etc.)
- 1–3+ years of outpatient physician or multi-specialty coding experience
- Strong understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, ICD-10, and medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical business and revenue cycle workflows
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, email, and general office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
- Professional, collaborative, and dependable work style
