What You’ll Do
- Audit medical records and validate coding accuracy
- Prepare audit findings and recommend process improvements
- Review documentation to ensure accurate reflection of services and medical decision-making
- Provide written feedback to providers and support documentation improvement
- Answer coding and billing inquiries promptly
- Assist with provider onboarding and education
- Conduct training for coding staff based on audit results and regulation updates
- Maintain active coding credentials and stay current on regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams to support compliance initiatives
What You Need
- National coding certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA required)
- 5+ years specialty-specific coding experience
- 1+ year auditing experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit tools
- Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and documentation standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coach providers/coders
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
