Schedule

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST
  • May require occasional overtime
  • 6 weeks of paid, virtual on-the-job training
  • Equipment pickup required at 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN

What You’ll Do

  • Handle inbound calls to resolve patient billing concerns
  • Review and verify account activity and payer explanations of benefits (EOBs)
  • Educate patients on online payment and invoice options
  • Route accounts for review and resolution as needed
  • Provide accurate information to customers and third parties
  • Process patient mail and maintain accurate documentation
  • Represent Optum with professionalism and customer care

What You Need

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of healthcare billing or medical insurance call center experience
  • 1+ years working with EOBs
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and claims processing
  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications and ability to learn new systems
  • Must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin and travel to Minneapolis to pick up equipment

Preferred

  • 2+ years of medical insurance or billing experience
  • Experience with Epic or other EMR systems
  • Familiarity with multiple insurance carriers
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish)

Telecommuting Requirements

  • Dedicated, private home workspace
  • High-speed internet approved by UnitedHealth Group
  • Secure handling of sensitive documents
