Schedule
- Full-time, remote position
- Standard weekday business hours
- Must be able to meet 5–7 day turnaround deadlines on disability forms
What You’ll Do
- Process FMLA and short-term disability paperwork quickly and accurately
- Communicate with patients and physician coordinators about forms with a patient-centered approach
- Validate and process PHI requests while ensuring HIPAA/HITECH compliance
- Answer multi-line incoming calls and log call data in Excel
- Complete and invoice patient forms on schedule, ensuring timely delivery
- Maintain disclosure logs and conduct quality screenings on incoming requests
- Establish professional relationships with account clients and provide respectful, attentive service
What You Need
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical records department or similar setting
- High school diploma/GED required; additional education preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to type at least 50 WPM
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, fax, copier, and scanning equipment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated team player able to adapt quickly to new equipment and processes
