Pomelo Care is seeking a Referral Specialist to help connect clients referred by health plans, providers, and doulas to our national doula network. You’ll play a key role in enrolling clients, matching them with doulas, and educating families on the benefits of doula care—directly impacting healthier outcomes for moms and babies.
About Pomelo Care
Pomelo Care is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, engineers, and problem-solvers passionate about improving care for moms and babies. We deliver evidence-based, technology-driven pregnancy and newborn care at scale, working to reduce preterm births, NICU stays, c-sections, and maternal mortality. With our recent acquisition of The Doula Network, we are expanding access to doula services nationwide to support every birthing person with personalized, compassionate care.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM CT
- Remote, U.S.-based (private, distraction-free workspace required)
What You’ll Do
- Conduct outbound calls, SMS, and email outreach to enroll referred clients into Pomelo Care services
- Document referrals and update records with accuracy and efficiency
- Match clients with doulas in the Pomelo Care network
- Collaborate with health plans, case managers, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless referral processing
- Answer inbound calls from clients and partners, providing guidance and education on services
- Track and manage referral enrollments to meet quality, productivity, and KPI goals
- Verify health plan eligibility through online portals and clearinghouses
- Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date on healthcare trends and best practices
What You Need
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience working with healthcare referral systems
- Familiarity with Medicaid health plans
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Reliable internet connection and professional home workspace
