Role Overview
As a Credentialing Specialist Contractor, you’ll play a vital role in completing and following up on applications for provider contracting, credentialing, EFT enrollments, roster updates, and claims agreements. By ensuring accuracy and persistence in these processes, you’ll help maintain a robust carrier network that supports our clients’ success.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete insurance carrier contracting and credentialing applications for groups and individual providers
- Prepare initial and reappointment hospital privilege applications
- Submit claims and remittance agreements via clearinghouses and payer portals
- Process and submit EFT enrollments for electronic payments from insurance carriers
- Update practice demographic information with payers
- Perform roster updates, linking providers, and participation status changes
- Make follow-up calls to insurance carriers regarding application status, roster updates, and practice info changes
- Record outreach activity and next steps in task management software
- Communicate with the Credentialing Department regarding urgent items and weekly availability
What You Need
- Prior experience with contracting/credentialing applications and insurance carrier outreach
- Familiarity with EDI and EFT agreements (preferred)
- Knowledge of credentialing processes and administrative/medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Availability during payer business hours (Mon–Fri, 8 am–5 pm EST)
- Must reside in the U.S. and be authorized to work
Compensation Model
This contract role pays per completed task for maximum flexibility. Work is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no minimum hours required.

- Initial Hospital Privileges: $13.44/unit
- Address Update: $2.98/unit
- Roster Update/Initial Request/Link Provider: $5.97/unit
- Initial Contracting/Credentialing Application: $13.44/unit
- Re-credentialing/Reappointment Application: $8.96/unit
- CAQH Attestation: $2.98/unit
- ERA Enrollment: $5.97/unit
- EFT Enrollment: $5.97/unit
