What You’ll Do
- Contact insurance carriers to check status of past-due accounts and secure claim payments
- Research and update records on unpaid or denied claims
- Take corrective action to resolve outstanding claims, including high-complexity charges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines across multistate practices
- Prepare and submit claim appeals with proper documentation to dispute denials
- Document activity details for each account in company software
- Meet or exceed productivity standards (7 encounters per hour / 175 per week)
- Maintain strict compliance with all regulations, including HIPAA
What You Need
- Availability to make calls to insurance carriers during operating hours (8:00 am – 6:00 pm EST)
- At least 20 hours per week to meet weekly goals
- Active subscription to Microsoft Word and access to a reliable printer with paper and ink/toner
- Strong computer and word-processing skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proven experience communicating effectively with payers
- Prior collections or medical billing experience, with strong knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and medical terminology
- Must submit W9 – currently operate as a sole proprietor or be willing to register a business per independent contractor guidelines
- Must reside in the U.S. and be authorized to work while physically located in the U.S.
Compensation
- Paid $6.00 per verified claim (independent contractor role)
