Play a key role in supporting multi-state sales & use tax compliance for Vertex clients. This is a full-time, remote opportunity offering competitive pay, benefits, and growth in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Schedule
- Full-time, remote role (USA)
- Additional hours may be required during monthly peak periods (5th–20th of each month)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file clients’ multi-state sales & use tax (SUT) returns.
- Communicate with client contacts via phone/email to resolve tax data issues.
- Import and reconcile tax data using Vertex Indirect Tax Returns software.
- Process client approvals, revisions, filings, and electronic payments on time.
- Track and respond to notices from taxing jurisdictions.
- Manage sales tax registrations and reconcile client bank activity.
- Participate in onboarding new clients and training new hires.
- Maintain monthly compliance reports and assist with special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- 6+ years of sales & use tax compliance experience (or equivalent).
- Proficiency with multi-state tax prep software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service mindset.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary Range: $56,900 – $74,000 (depending on skills, experience, and location).
- Eligible for Vertex Bonus Plan, commissions/bonuses, and potential equity.
