What You’ll Do
- Complete release of information (ROI) requests by retrieving, scanning, and transmitting patient medical records
- Validate requests and authorizations to ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policy
- Perform quality checks for accuracy, confidentiality, and invoicing
- Handle incoming requests by mail, fax, or phone as needed
- Maintain client equipment and workspace in proper operating condition
- Provide professional customer service while safeguarding patient privacy
- Maintain knowledge of state laws, HIPAA, and fee structures
- Document all requests and activities accurately
- Support backlog coverage and assist with additional facilities when required
What You Need
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- 2+ years of experience in a medical records department or similar setting (preferred)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to type 50+ WPM and operate fax, copier, and scanning equipment
- Strong customer service skills with proven satisfaction record
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and a team player
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes quickly
