Schedule
- Full-time role
- Flexible hours; occasional overtime and weekends may be required
- Remote position (US-based)
Responsibilities
- Collect and review patient insurance benefit information in line with program SOPs
- Assist providers and patients with completing and submitting insurance forms and program applications
- Submit and track prior authorizations, ensuring timely follow-up with payors
- Provide excellent customer service to providers, payors, and internal teams, escalating complaints as needed
- Maintain frequent contact with providers, pharmacy staff, and third-party reps to resolve reimbursement questions
- Document all interactions in CareMetx Connect and keep provider credentials, licensing, and application records current
- Report reimbursement delays or trends to supervisors
- Ensure all required documentation (demographics, NPI, referrals, etc.) is submitted to expedite prior authorizations
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient/provider data
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; AS or BS in business/healthcare preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in credentialing, specialty pharmacy, medical insurance, or a healthcare-related setting
- General knowledge of pharmacy and medical benefits, commercial and government payors preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal/written communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Customer-focused with strong problem-solving and time management skills
Compensation
- Annual salary: $30,490 – $38,960, based on skills and experience
