Schedule
- Pay: $30/hour
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm EST
- Fully remote role
Responsibilities
- Review physician and hospital documentation to assign ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and PCS codes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines
- Clarify documentation with providers as needed for accurate coding
- Enter and validate coded data in EHR and billing systems
- Conduct coding audits and report discrepancies to leadership
- Stay current with updates to coding standards and payer requirements
- Collaborate with physicians and staff on documentation improvement
- Assist in resolving coding-related billing issues, denials, and rejections
- Participate in continuing education and coding projects
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in HIM or related field preferred
- CCS or CPC certification required
- 2–5 years of profee coding experience (inpatient and/or outpatient)
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems across multiple specialties
- Proficiency with coding software and EHR systems
- Strong medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology background
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
