What You’ll Do
- Post insurance and patient payments (manual and electronic) accurately and on time
- Post adjustments, denials, and refunds per departmental policy
- Download, reconcile, and post Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) to bank deposits
- Review and post patient payments from lockbox, office, or online portals
- Reconcile daily payment activity with deposits and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain daily logs and reports for posting and reconciliation
- Research unapplied cash, missing remittances, and payment discrepancies
- Assist with month-end reconciliations and audit support
- Collaborate with billing and AR teams to ensure accurate allocation of payments
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–3 years of healthcare payment posting experience (manual and electronic)
- Familiarity with EOBs, EOPs, ERAs, and payer processes (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Experience reconciling payments to bank deposits
- Proficiency with AthenaOne or similar EMR/practice management systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
