Summary
As the Canada Payroll Services Supervisor, you’ll oversee a payroll team responsible for processing, settlement, and client-facing support for multiple companies in an outsourced environment. This role requires payroll expertise, leadership, and a customer advocacy mindset—coaching your team to deliver accurate, compliant, and best-in-class payroll services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily payroll operations to meet deadlines and quality standards
- Act as the primary client contact, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for cross-selling
- Lead and mentor payroll team members; identify development needs and provide coaching/training
- Handle escalated issues and provide solutions while promoting best practices across teams
- Track performance standards and ensure compliance during high-volume periods
- Partner with internal teams and external clients as a consultant and problem solver
- Conduct performance reviews, set Individual Development Plans, and manage corrective actions when needed
- Support strategic initiatives, succession planning, and task force participation

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- 5+ years of payroll/tax experience
- 2+ years of Canadian payroll experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred
- Associate degree
- FPC or CPP certification
