Responsibilities
- Review accounts and system applications to determine next steps; document all collection activities.
- Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers via phone and electronic methods to resolve escalated or complex denials.
- Route accounts to specialty or clinical departments for review when appropriate.
- Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner; escalate to team leads when needed.
- Contact patients/guarantors for updated insurance information.
- Meet productivity and quality standards in a remote, production-driven environment.
- Present trending denial or system issues to leadership and assist with root cause analysis.
- Complete special projects or reports to resolve high-priority aged receivables.
Requirements
- Medicare/Medicaid professional billing experience or payer experience required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal assistance.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $16.39 – $24.29 per hour (based on experience, skills, and location).
