What You’ll Do
- Review, coordinate, and process incoming patient care documents
- Communicate with clinics, referral sources, and external partners to ensure timely documentation
- Educate referral partners on documentation standards when updates are required
- Assemble and submit complete PAR packets once documentation is accurate
- Review patient documentation for payer requirements and medical policy compliance
- Verify diagnosis codes for accuracy and reimbursement
- Communicate with clinicians regarding coding issues
- Provide support for diabetic shoe treatment and fitting documentation
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of insurance verification and/or benefits experience
- Strong understanding of Medicare and private payer policies, particularly for diabetic shoes and inserts
- Knowledge of HIPAA, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC/CPT coding, billing, and reimbursement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and billing systems
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license per Hanger policy
