What You’ll Do

  • Review, coordinate, and process incoming patient care documents
  • Communicate with clinics, referral sources, and external partners to ensure timely documentation
  • Educate referral partners on documentation standards when updates are required
  • Assemble and submit complete PAR packets once documentation is accurate
  • Review patient documentation for payer requirements and medical policy compliance
  • Verify diagnosis codes for accuracy and reimbursement
  • Communicate with clinicians regarding coding issues
  • Provide support for diabetic shoe treatment and fitting documentation

What You Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of insurance verification and/or benefits experience
  • Strong understanding of Medicare and private payer policies, particularly for diabetic shoes and inserts
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC/CPT coding, billing, and reimbursement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and billing systems
  • Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
  • Eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license per Hanger policy
